Diagnostic Evaluation
Online or in-person, this time will be spent evaluating your mental health needs, including taking inventory of previous mental health history, presenting problem, and formulating a treatment plan. This includes ongoing screening and measures to identify severity of symptoms to formulate a diagnosis.
A diagnostic evaluation is a helpful for individuals with complex needs, where a clearer picture of their history and treatment needs is needed to direct treatment recommendations.

Individual Therapy
Therapy can help people of all ages. It provides a safe space, an “outside” perspective, and an opportunity to grow and learn. Alyssa has experience with a variety of concerns, including depressive symptoms, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, OCD, behavioral issues and family dysfunction.
We currently serve ages 5 and up.

Trauma Therapy
A therapeutic approach designed to enable individuals who have experienced trauma develop trust with their therapist, caregivers and more importantly with themselves.
If you have experienced things such as sexual abuse, neglect, domestic violence, have been in foster care or have been exposed to substance abuse in your family; you may be struggling with the effects of these experiences.
Utilizing trauma informed principles, we will work together to bring your mind and body to the present to help alleviate those symptoms. We do this by utilizing brain based strategies, psycho-education, gradual exposure and modalities such as trauma focused cognitive-behavioral therapy and dyadic developmental psychotherapy. We also provide caregiver/parenting strategies that promote safe and appropriate management of behaviors and healthy attachments.

Clinical Supervision
To become licensed to practice, all mental health providers must complete a minimum number of therapy hours under clinical supervision. The specific requirements vary depending on the license a therapist seeks and the state in which they practice. You will receive a supportive learning process for to develop and enhance your professional functioning offering oversight and support.

Expert Witness Work
Alyssa has a specialized set of skills, knowledge and experience required to testify in a court of law on cases pertaining to victims of abuse. As an expert witness, Alyssa is available to testify as an expert on victim behaviors both during and after a traumatic event as well as how traumatic experiences effect brain functioning. It is the duty of an expert witness to give the court an impartial opinion based on skills, knowledge and experience. Alyssa has qualified as an expert witness in both Pennsylvania and Maryland.
